Arad approves 59 million lei investment for new park

Local councilors in Arad, Romania, have approved the construction of a new park in the Aurel Vlaicu neighborhood. The project aims to transform approximately 3.5 hectares of degraded, unused land into a green recreational area.

The Aurel Vlaicu district is the city's largest neighborhood, housing at least 30,000 residents. Until now, the area lacked dedicated green spaces, leaving residents to use the Eternitatea Cemetery as their primary location for walking among trees and greenery.

The investment is valued at 59 million lei. Funding is expected to include approximately 20% from the European Union. Once completed, roughly 90% of the park's surface will consist of green spaces, featuring facilities designed for all age groups.
