Aragón region seeks regulation for biogas and biomethane plants
The Comarca Council has called on the Government of Aragón to develop a specific regional plan for the implementation of biogas and biomethane plants. The proposal seeks to establish clear criteria regarding location, territorial distribution, environmental capacity, resource availability, and proximity to waste sources.
Supported by various political groups including PP, PSOE, Ciudadanos Tu Aragón, and Vox, the initiative aims to minimize environmental and social impacts. Key concerns include managing odors, emissions, heavy traffic, waste transport, and the protection of soil and water resources. The council intends to ensure that future regulations promote an orderly and sustainable development of the sector while integrating with the local landscape.
