Aragon prioritizes lindane contamination remediation by 2030

The Government of Aragon has announced that addressing historical lindane contamination will be a primary priority for the Directorate General of Environmental Quality during the current legislature. The regional government aims to complete key environmental remediation actions by 2030.

Specific focus areas include the closure of the Bailín security cell, the dismantling of Inquinosa, and interventions at the Sardas landfill. To support these efforts, the administration plans to concentrate technical, human, and budgetary resources on managing these contaminated sites, securing waste confinement, and treating affected areas.

Additionally, the government intends to modernize its environmental inspection processes through new technologies, simplify administrative procedures, and review regional waste regulations to fulfill commitments regarding historical contamination in the territory.
