The Aragonese Mountaineering Federation (FAM) held its 30th annual Mountain Dinner on October 23 to recognize excellence in mountain sports and discuss the organization's future challenges. The event brought together over 120 athletes, clubs, and authorities.
Key sporting awards included Lizer Aznárez Bescós, who received the male athlete award for his performance in the Spanish Bouldering Cup, and the Aragonese Women's Selection for mountain running. Career achievements were honored through the Federation Prize awarded to Manuel Avellanas, and Gold Badges presented to José María Grau, Raúl Martínez, Peña Edelweiss, and Club Atlético Sobrarbe.
FAM President Javier Franco emphasized the federation's commitment to fostering a culture of safety to prevent accidents and the need to professionalize the organization of sporting competitions, particularly as certain mountain disciplines gain Olympic status.
