Aragua highway collision kills two cousins

Two cousins, identified as Albert and Gleiver Useche, died in a vehicle collision on the Autopista Regional del Centro (ARC) in Aragua state. The accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, August 29, at kilometer 108 near the Maracay Avenue bridge in the Girardot municipality.

Following the impact, the drivers lost control, struck the bridge guardrail, and overturned, causing the vehicles to catch fire. The victims were trapped inside one of the cars and could not be rescued by Aragua firefighters or the Bolivian National Police. The deceased were traveling from San Cristóbal, Táchira, to Caracas. Their bodies were transferred to the National Service of Forensic Sciences (Senamecf) for identification via dental and anthropological studies. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the crash.
