Araguaína Gastronomic Festival promotes regional cuisine and tourism
The Araguaína Gastronomic Festival concluded at the Convention Center, aiming to establish the city within the national gastronomic tourism circuit. Promoted by the Araguaína City Hall in partnership with SEBRAE, the three-day event featured business fairs, national shows, and cooking classes.
A regional culinary competition involved 38 local participants across five categories, including Main Dish, Barbecue, Street Food, Regional Dessert, and Vegetarian/Dietary options. To emphasize local identity, dishes were required to include ingredients from Tocantins or the Northern Region, such as pequi, buriti, mandioca, tucunaré, and baru. Reval Vinhal won the Main Dish category with the dish ‘Panelinha do Cerrado’.
Mayor Wagner Rodrigues noted the event's positive impact on the local economy, tourism, and cultural identity, stating the festival serves to showcase local talent and productive chains.
