Arajet airline projects significant passenger growth in Mexico and Canada
Dominican airline Arajet is forecasting substantial growth in its international passenger traffic. The carrier projects it will transport 398,000 passengers between the Dominican Republic and Mexico by 2026, representing a 423% increase compared to 2022 levels.
In the Canadian market, Arajet aims to mobilize approximately 75,000 passengers per destination. CEO Víctor Pacheco indicated that the airline is working to increase weekly frequencies from four to six on its routes to Montreal and Toronto. Currently, the airline moves about 50,000 passengers annually per Canadian destination. These expansion efforts are part of a broader strategy to establish the Dominican Republic as a regional hub connecting North America with South American markets, including Brazil, Chile, Argentina, and Peru.
