Arajet and MESCyT partner to train aviation professionals

The Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCyT) and the airline Arajet have signed a strategic alliance to train specialized professionals for the country’s expanding aeronautical industry.

The agreement focuses on developing academic programs, managing scholarships, and creating high-quality employment opportunities for Dominican youth in key aviation sectors. The initiative aims to address urgent labor demands, including the need for more than 100 commercial pilots, 300 cabin crew members, and between 300 and 400 specialized maintenance technicians.

To ensure international standards, the ministry will work with the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC), INFOTEP, and international universities to provide global certifications and potential double degrees. The plan also includes bringing international instructors to the country to reduce training costs for local students.
