Arajet celebrates Dominican Heritage Day in Miami and announces fleet expansion

Arajet, the Dominican Republic’s flag airline, partnered with the Dominican Ministry of Tourism and the Miami Marlins to host Dominican Heritage Day at loanDepot park. The event, held during a game against the Washington Nationals, featured cultural music, gastronomy, and a Heritage Parade to celebrate the Dominican community in South Florida.

During the celebration, Arajet conducted fan activations and travel giveaways. The event concluded with a musical performance by Dominican artist Toño Rosario. Manuel Luna, Chief Communications Officer for Arajet, noted that Miami has become the airline’s second most important route in the United States by passenger volume.

Separately, Arajet announced significant growth plans, including expanding its fleet to 24 Boeing 737 jets by the end of 2027. The airline aims to expand its network to include Boston, New York, Guayaquil, and Montevideo, while also pursuing service in Venezuela. Arajet reported exceeding 1 million passengers transported during the first half of 2026.
