Turkey and Azerbaijan to launch e-TIR pilot program
The Turkish Ministry of Trade has announced that a pilot e-TIR application will be launched between Turkey and Azerbaijan at the Dilucu-Sederek border gates before the end of 2026.
During a meeting involving representatives from Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, as well as officials from the World Customs Organization and the International Road Transport Union, Deputy Minister of Trade Sezai Uçarmak emphasized the importance of increasing commercial cooperation among Turkic Council member states. The initiative aims to integrate customs processes, remove financial burdens at border crossings, and utilize digital technologies to ensure faster and more secure international trade flows.
Additionally, discussions focused on the progress of the Authorized Economic Operator program and the development of a new Customs Cooperation Action Plan covering the 2027-2031 period.
