Houthi forces launch missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia

Houthi rebel forces in Yemen have escalated attacks against Saudi Arabia, targeting multiple strategic locations including King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, and the Najran airport. The group also targeted military installations such as the Khamis Mushait airbase and maritime bases in Jizan.

In addition to aviation targets, the Houthi group claimed to have struck energy infrastructure operated by Saudi Aramco. These strikes included crude oil pumping stations, the Rabigh refinery, and the East-West pipeline. The group stated these actions were in response to Saudi military operations in Yemen.

Bahrain and Yemen have both issued strong condemnations of the attacks. Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the targeting of civilian sites and holy sites in Mecca and Medina as a violation of international law and a threat to regional stability. The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs also condemned the strikes, holding both the Houthi militia and Iran responsible for the escalation.
