Arantxa Iturbe to receive Ibilbide Saria for Basque cultural contributions

Writer and journalist Arantxa Iturbe will be awarded the Ibilbide Saria 2026 in recognition of her four decades of work in Basque culture, literature, and communication. The award, which includes 5,000 euros, will be presented on November 19 in Donostia during the Literaktum literary festival.

Iturbe has been associated with Euskadi Irratia since 1985 and has built an extensive career in radio, including news programs and interviews. Her literary work began in 1992, and she has authored several books, including works for children and young adults, often focusing on personal relationships and women's experiences. Additionally, she has contributed to theater and television scripts, receiving two Max Awards for her contributions to Basque-language theater.
