Arap Bethke to host new History documentary on Día de Muertos

History and BetaPlus have begun filming ‘Entre 2 Mundos’, a new four-episode original documentary series exploring the Mexican tradition of Día de Muertos. The production, filmed in Toluca and Mexico City, is scheduled to premiere in November to coincide with the holiday.

Actor and producer Arap Bethke will host the series, which aims to provide a fresh perspective on the cultural celebration by connecting history, identity, and emotion. The documentary will feature interviews with various generations of artisans, cooks, artists, mystics, and religious representatives to showcase how the tradition is prepared months in advance and maintained through generations.

The project is directed by Carlos Cruz, a recipient of the 2024 National Journalism Prize.
