Arapiraca sculptor sentenced to 87 years for four murders

Regivaldo da Silva Santana, known as Giba, has been sentenced to 87 years and 4 months in prison by the Jury Court of Arapiraca, Alagoas. He was convicted for the murders of four individuals whose bodies were discovered hidden in a well on a rural property where he resided.

The victims were identified as Letícia da Silva Santos, 20; Lucas da Silva Santos, 15; Joselene de Souza Santos, 17; and Erick Juan de Lima Silva, 20. The crimes occurred on April 13, 2024.

Two accomplices, Wesley Santana Sá and Adriano Santos Lima, were also sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison for their roles in concealing the bodies. The Public Ministry of Alagoas (MPAL) has stated its intention to appeal the sentences handed to Sá and Lima, describing them as insufficient given the severity of the crimes.
