Araraquara City Hall identifies need for 27 additional dentists

The Araraquara City Hall has identified a significant need for additional dental professionals to meet local demand. Between September 2025 and August 2026, the city's 35 health units recorded 7,945 dental appointments.

According to data from the Municipal Health Secretariat, there are currently ten open vacancies for dental surgeons. The city estimates a total requirement for 27 additional dentists working 20-hour weekly shifts to reach a necessary staff of 105 professionals. This expansion aims to increase service availability and support new infrastructure and equipment.

In addition to dentists, there is a shortage of oral health assistants (ASB). The Secretariat noted that 15 new positions are required to fill gaps in units that have lacked these roles since 2023, emphasizing that complete teams are essential for the proper functioning of dental services.
