A 22-year-old woman was arrested in Araras, São Paulo, for attempting to commit fraud using the scheduled Pix payment method. The suspect attempted to purchase an iPhone 16 at two different stores owned by the same merchant.
Local merchants, who had been alerted to similar attempts via a communication group, recognized the woman and contacted the Municipal Civil Guard. Although the suspect initially provided a different account of the events, she later admitted to intending to commit the fraud but claimed she had changed her mind.
The Civil Police have confirmed the arrest for attempted fraud, and the individual remains in custody pending judicial proceedings.
