Istanbul drug investigation detains several high-profile celebrities

The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched two separate investigations into drug use, supply, blackmail, and violation of privacy, resulting in detention warrants for 24 suspects. The Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command has apprehended 21 individuals as part of the operation, which involves several high-profile figures from the Turkish entertainment and social media sectors.

Among those detained are actors Aras Bulut İynemli, Melis Sezen, and Nilperi Şahinkaya, as well as singer Sefo (Seyfullah Sağır). During police questioning, Melis Sezen denied all allegations, stating she has never used drugs and is willing to provide blood and hair samples for testing. She also disclosed that her average monthly income from acting is approximately 400,000 TL and shared her phone password with authorities.

Aras Bulut İynemli also denied any involvement in drug-related activities or organizing parties where such substances are used, noting that he voluntarily provided his digital device passwords. Actress Afra Saraçoğlu was detained at Istanbul Airport upon her return from a business trip to France. Following medical examinations and judicial procedures, Saraçoğlu has been released.
