Arashi documentary directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda to stream on Prime Video
Prime Video has announced the exclusive global streaming of a new documentary film titled ‘5 – Arashi to iu Jikan –’, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Hirokazu Kore-eda. The film follows the members of the Japanese pop group Arashi—Masaki Aiba, Jun Matsumoto, Kazunari Ninomiya, Satoshi Ohno, and Sho Sakurai—during their five-dome tour, which took place approximately six years after their hiatus began and leading up to their official group disbandment on May 31, 2026.
Kore-eda, known for works such as ‘Shoplifters’, stated that the film depicts how the five members perceived their identity as Arashi and how they chose to bring their activities to a close. The documentary is scheduled for release on December 15, 2026.
In addition to the documentary, Prime Video will release ‘ARASHI LIVE TOUR 2026 “We are ARASHI -Prime Video Edition-”’ on December 21, 2026. This concert footage was specially edited by member Jun Matsumoto. Furthermore, starting September 15, 2026, nine past live archive works will be released sequentially on the platform.
