Araucanía Games launch announced for Chile and Argentina

Authorities from Argentina and Chile have officially launched the 33rd Binational Araucanía Games and the Para Araucanía Games. The events are scheduled to take place in the Los Ríos Region of Chile, specifically in Valdivia. The main games will run from October 25 to 31, while the Para Araucanía competitions will be held from November 8 to 12.

The binational competition involves six Argentine provinces—Tierra del Fuego, Santa Cruz, Chubut, Río Negro, Neuquén, and La Pampa—and seven Chilean regions: Ñuble, Bío Bío, La Araucanía, Los Lagos, Aysén, Magallanes, and Los Ríos.

During the executive and technical committee meetings, officials discussed potential future changes, such as shortening competition days for the 2027 edition and introducing new disciplines like mountain biking and taekwondo. Río Negro enters the competition as the defending champion for the sixth consecutive time.
