Arauco invests R$ 1 million in waste management equipment for Inocência
Arauco has invested R$ 1 million in selective waste collection equipment for the future Waste Sorting Unit (UTR) in Inocência, Mato Grosso do Sul. The initiative is part of the Basic Environmental Plan (PBA) under the Socio-Environmental Strategic Plan (PES) of the Sucuriú Project.
The donation includes a cage truck, sorting conveyor, hydraulic press, forklift, industrial scale, and an urban green waste shredder. The green waste shredder was the first item delivered to the local government on September 23. This equipment aims to manage pruning and public cleaning leftovers, reducing fire risks, disease vector proliferation, and landfill volume.
The remaining equipment will be transferred to the municipality once the UTR construction, managed by the local government, is completed. The facility is expected to be operational by February 2027. The project seeks to strengthen the local circular economy and protect soil and water resources through improved solid waste management.
