Arauco leads Latin American forestry industry developments

The Latin American forestry sector is seeing significant professional and industrial developments. Cristián Infante, an executive at the Chilean group Arauco, was named ‘CEO of the Year 2026 in Latin America’ by Fastmarkets. The award was presented during the Forest Products Latin America Conference in São Paulo, recognizing Arauco’s strategic leadership and financial performance, specifically regarding the Sucuriú project.

In Chile, the 13th edition of the Merco Talento ranking identified Arauco as the leader in talent attraction and retention within the forestry sector, followed by CMPC in second place. These companies were recognized for their ability to manage human capital amidst a challenging industrial landscape.

Additionally, the Lignum Latin America industrial exhibition is scheduled to take place in Curitiba, Brazil, from September 15 to 17, 2026. This event, part of the International Wood Week, will focus on machinery, technological innovation, and forest-industrial business, serving as a regional hub for investment decisions and commercial alliances.
