Araucária launches free vaccination campaign for rural livestock

The municipality of Araucária is conducting a free vaccination campaign for horses, donkeys, and mules to strengthen rural production and public health. Through the Secretariat of Agriculture (SMAG), approximately 300 animals will be immunized against equine rabies, encephalomyelitis, and equine tetanus.

The campaign is scheduled to run until September 30 at 16 different locations across rural areas. Beyond protecting livestock, the initiative aims to mitigate the risk of rabies, a zoonotic disease that can be transmitted from animals to humans and is considered nearly 100% fatal once it reaches the nervous system.
