Araxá judicial district donates wheelchair via recycling project

The ‘Lacre do Bem’ project, an initiative by the Court of Justice of Minas Gerais (TJMG) in partnership with an NGO, has donated a wheelchair to the Recanto do Idoso de São Vicente de Paulo in Araxá.

To facilitate the donation, the local judicial district collected 13 containers of 20 liters each, filled with aluminum can tabs. The mobilization involved judges, staff, and interns from the Tito Fulgêncio Forum. Judge José Aparecido Fausto de Oliveira and campaign coordinator Silvana Resende conducted the official delivery.

Mônica Libânio Rocha Bretas, superintendent of Sustainability and Accessibility at TJMG, noted that Araxá was the top-contributing district to the project. The initiative has reached a milestone of 150 wheelchairs donated across the state of Minas Gerais and has recycled 112 tons of aluminum tabs, combining environmental impact with social support.
