Arbatax port targets luxury cruise growth in Sardinia

The Ogliastra region and the port of Arbatax were the focus of the 'Italian Cruise Day in Tour' event held in Sardinia. Organized by the Port System Authority (AdSP) of the Sea of Sardinia in collaboration with Risposte Turismo, the meeting brought together institutions, cruise companies, and industry experts to discuss growth strategies for the port.

A key theme of the discussion was the luxury cruise segment, which is becoming a structural part of Sardinia's tourism. Out of approximately 300 cruise calls projected for the Sardinian port system in 2026, 96 are expected to be in the luxury category. In Arbatax specifically, four out of five scheduled calls belong to this high-value segment.

To support this growth and enhance international appeal, the AdSP is focusing on infrastructure investments. Approximately 10 million euros are being allocated to the Arbatax port to improve accessibility for both moored ships and tenders, ensuring high-quality reception services.
