Arber Xhekaj contract negotiations continue with Montreal Canadiens

The contract status of Montreal Canadiens defenseman Arber Xhekaj remains uncertain as the team approaches training camp in late September. Xhekaj’s agent, Brian Bartlett, has stated that while negotiations with the organization are ongoing, the parties prefer to keep the details private for now.

Analysis suggests that a potential trade could be inevitable due to a logjam on the Canadiens' blue line. With several players such as Lane Hutson, Kaiden Guhle, Mike Matheson, Noah Dobson, and Alexandre Carrier occupying top defensive roles, competition for remaining minutes is high.
