Arbitration commission formed for Podgorica and Tuzi border demarcation
An arbitration commission has been formed to handle the border demarcation process between Podgorica and the Municipality of Tuzi. Representing the capital city are lawyer Neven Gošović, border expert Milan Paunović, and Vesna Brajović, the mayor's chief of staff.
The appointment follows public criticism from Minister of Public Administration Maraš Dukaj, who noted that the capital had not taken steps toward demarcation for over a month despite government decisions. The Municipality of Tuzi has maintained its existing representatives on the commission. The government is now expected to appoint a chairperson for the body.
This follows the failure of a previous commission formed in March, which was unable to reach a consensus within the 90-day legal timeframe before its head resigned. The dispute involves several areas, including the Kuće Rakića settlement, the Deponija enterprise, and Mount Korita. Podgorica and Tuzi have lacked regulated border lines and shared property division for over seven years.
