Arborea Mayor Manuela Pintus faces death threats

Manuela Pintus, the Mayor of Arborea, has publicly disclosed that she has been facing death threats for several months. While the authorities and the Prefecture were previously aware of the situation and had already implemented protection measures, Pintus chose to formally reveal the threats during a recent city council meeting.

In response, Massimiliano Sanna, the Mayor of Oristano, visited Pintus to express institutional and personal solidarity. Sanna emphasized that threats against a mayor are attacks on the institution and the entire community, calling for unity to defend the right of local administrators to serve safely.

Prefect Paolo Corritore also met with Pintus in Oristano to convey the State's support. He confirmed that the Prefecture, the State Police, and the Carabinieri have been monitoring the situation closely and have taken necessary protective actions. The Prefecture stated it will continue to evaluate further initiatives to ensure Pintus can carry out her duties with serenity.
