Arbër Hitaj criticizes Democratic Party's handling of protests

During a discussion on the program ‘Prime News24’, analyst Arbër Hitaj criticized the Democratic Party of Albania (PD) for failing to lead recent civic protests. Hitaj characterized Sali Berisha’s initial stance as a ‘tactical error,’ noting that Berisha spent the first two weeks accusing protesters of being agents planted by the Socialist Party.

Hitaj argued that while the position was corrected after two weeks, the party lost a ‘golden moment’ and the monopoly it could have held over the opposition movement. He further noted that the country is currently facing a series of significant scandals involving various figures and institutions.
