Arbumasa to build processing plant in Trelew Free Zone

Chubut Governor Ignacio Torres announced a new investment in the provincial fishing sector during Argentina Week. The company Arbumasa has formally requested a lot within the Trelew Free Zone to construct a processing plant.

The construction phase of the project is expected to generate approximately 80 jobs. Arbumasa is currently finalizing architectural designs and proceeding with environmental impact permits before beginning work. This will make Arbumasa the second company to begin construction within the Trelew Free Zone, following Pesquera Mediterráneo del Sur.

In addition to the investment announcement, Governor Torres proposed that the national government eliminate export duties on the fishing sector in exchange for commitments to infrastructure reinvestment and fleet renewal.
