ARC Raiders announces free-to-play weekend and Frozen Trail update

Embark Studios has announced a free-to-play weekend for ARC Raiders, running from 09:00 UTC on 8 October until 08:00 UTC on 12 October. The event provides players on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S access to the full game rather than a restricted demo, allowing for unrestricted progression during the trial period.

The free-play event coincides with the launch of the Frozen Trail update, described as the game’s largest update since its release. This update introduces Pendola Pass, a new map set in a frozen former transport hub featuring an old Italian village, an abandoned supermarket, and a buried train depot. The update also includes the Pendola Pass, three new ARC enemies, new weapons, outposts, and significant progression changes. New players teaming up with existing players can access the Pendola Pass immediately if the veteran player has already unlocked it.
