Arc System Works launches River City Survivors on Apple Arcade

Arc System Works America has announced the release of River City Survivors: Downtown of the Dead, an action game available exclusively on Apple Arcade. The title adapts the River City franchise into the survivors-like genre, where players battle massive waves of zombies.

Players can choose from over 20 playable characters, including series staples Kunio and Riki, each featuring unique stats and skills. The gameplay incorporates an ‘Explosive Growth’ system, where leveling up provides randomized upgrade options such as skill attacks, projectile enhancements, and stat boosts, allowing for varied character builds in each session.

Progression is further supported by an equipment system with six slots: Gakuran, Bontan, Belt, Shoes, Accessories, and Inner Buttons. Players can also utilize up to two AI-controlled allies to assist in combat. To encourage engagement, the game includes daily rewards for returning players, offering currency and items to aid in character and gear evolution.
