Arc System Works releases Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls

Arc System Works, the developer behind Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball FighterZ, has released Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. This new title aims to fill the void left by previous Marvel fighting games by focusing on team-based combat.

The game features a 4-on-4 combat structure designed to be accessible to newcomers while offering significant depth for experienced players. Visually, the game adopts an anime-inspired aesthetic, with specific character arcs featuring art from creators such as Fairy Tail author Hiro Mashima.

Rather than a traditional narrative campaign, the game utilizes an episodic structure titled ‘Episodes’. The plot centers on a character known as The Champion, who arrives on Earth and forces heroes and villains to fight one another to determine who is strong enough to face him.
