Arca Announces Ninth Studio Album 'XXXXX' for July 31 Release

Venezuelan experimental musician Arca (Alejandra Ghersi Rodríguez) has announced her ninth studio album, titled "XXXXX," set for release on 31 July 2026 via XL Recordings. The 16‑track record is described as darker, more aggressive and highly experimental, continuing the artist’s post‑human themes. The album cover, created by visual artist Kaan Ulgener, depicts Arca as a biomechanical being accompanied by two owls.

Ahead of the album, Arca will stage a two‑hour livestream event called “Diva. Experimental transmission” on 23 July at 21:30 CEST, directed by Daniel Sannwald and styled by Akeem Smith. The show will be streamed from Barcelona on Twitch and YouTube with support from the dating app Feeld. Arca said, “With Feeld’s support and investment, we’re able to put on a show for you with full glam and budget. Thank you for supporting experimental art.” She added, “It seems playful, also mischievous, to interrupt that autopilot.”
