ARCA mandates digital invoicing for Argentine Monotributo

The Agency of Revenue and Customs Control (ARCA) has announced a transition to mandatory electronic invoicing for participants in the Monotributo Social and Monotributo Promovido programs. Under General Resolution 5893/2026, the previous exception allowing manual paper billing for these small taxpayers will end, with a full transition to digital formats or fiscal controllers required by November 1, 2026.

While existing paper booklets remain valid for exceptional or contingency situations provided they have a registered Printing Authorization Code (CAI), they will no longer be the standard method of operation. To facilitate this shift, ARCA will automatically activate a point of sale linked to the taxpayer's fiscal address under the 'Online Invoice – Monotributo' option for those without a registered point of sale.

Users can issue digital receipts for free through the official ARCA website using their CUIT and Fiscal Key by selecting the 'Online Vouchers' service.
