Arcadis and Autodesk expand AI collaboration for engineering

Arcadis has announced an expanded collaboration with Autodesk to integrate artificial intelligence, connected data, and digital workflows into the design and engineering of natural and built environments. The partnership combines Arcadis’ domain expertise in sustainability and project delivery with Autodesk’s Design and Make platform and Autodesk AI tools, such as Autodesk Assistant.

The collaboration aims to accelerate Arcadis’ AI and Data & Knowledge strategy by incorporating its proprietary standards and client experience into digital decision-making workflows. One specific joint initiative, titled ‘See Through Walls,’ utilizes AI, sensor data, and predictive modeling to assess the internal conditions of existing buildings. This project is intended to support decarbonization, circularity, and material reuse.

Automation through this partnership has already demonstrated efficiency gains, such as reducing Arcadis quality reviews from five days to approximately half a day. The integration is designed to help clients improve project resilience, reduce delivery risks, and increase productivity while maintaining human expertise at the center of the delivery process.
