ArcelorMittal High School achieves 100% WASSCE pass rate in Liberia

ArcelorMittal High School in Yekepa, Nimba County, achieved a 100 percent pass rate in this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). All 41 candidates successfully passed the examination, a milestone celebrated during the school’s 19th graduation ceremony on Friday, October 16.

Fully funded by the mining company ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML), the school serves children of workers and local residents within the Yekepa concession area. The institution is noted for its qualified teaching staff, modern facilities, and adherence to the national curriculum.

Nimba County Education Officer Francis Leagay described the results as a “remarkable achievement” that places the school at the top of all institutions in the county. He noted that these strong results allowed for graduation ceremonies to proceed this year, following widespread examination failures in the previous year that had prevented such celebrations.
