ArcelorMittal México donates materials for community sports facility

ArcelorMittal México has donated materials to complete the improvement of a sports facility in the Buenos Aires community, located in the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas.

The donation was made following a request from the Municipal Presidency of Lázaro Cárdenas. The materials will support ongoing government works, which include improvements to the dome, courts, lighting, and an adjacent area used for fast soccer.

Fernanda Vázquez, leader of Sustainable Development and Corporate Responsibility at ArcelorMittal México, stated that the initiative responds to community needs identified through dialogue and a 2024 Community Diagnosis. The company noted that adequate public spaces for sports and recreation are essential for promoting healthy lifestyles and strengthening social cohesion among families and youth.
