Workers at ArcelorMittal’s plant in Mexico City have issued an urgent call to defend the rights of 47 coworkers who were dismissed after raising concerns about profit‑sharing and working conditions. The workers allege that the company and local union officials concealed the distribution of profit‑sharing checks and violated the constitutional 90‑day entitlement. They warn of taking the case to the Inter‑American Court of Human Rights, claiming judicial bias in favour of the firm.

In Argentina, two employees of the Río Santiago shipyard chained themselves inside the plant to demand reinstatement after being fired following a mental‑health leave linked to gender‑based violence at home. The women say the employer mischaracterised their absences and failed to apply gender‑sensitive protocols. Their protest triggered involvement from the provincial Ministry of Women and Diversity, the ATE Ensenada union, and feminist organisations, while officials pledged to investigate the matter.
