Arcfox unveils Alpha T7 SUV and launches T1 crossover in New Zealand

Chinese premium EV brand Arcfox, part of BAIC Group, announced its new Alpha T7 five‑seat SUV. The model will be offered as a hybrid with a 1.5 L gasoline engine plus a 272 hp electric motor, and as a fully electric version with a 309 hp motor powered by CATL batteries. The vehicle features a 17.3‑inch central touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, extensive LED detailing and optional lidar‑based driver‑assist systems supplied by Huawei. Its dimensions place it in the larger crossover class, targeting younger buyers with sporty styling and a spacious cabin.

In parallel, Arcfox entered the New Zealand market with the T1 compact crossover, priced from NZ$34,990 (plus on‑road costs). The T1 offers a 15.6‑inch infotainment screen, digital cluster, panoramic roof, V2L capability and fast‑charging that reaches 80 % in about 25 minutes. Safety equipment includes six airbags, ESP, autonomous emergency braking and a 360‑degree camera. Local executives Simon Rutherford of Auto Distribution Holdings and Shiguang Guo, Arcfox New Zealand GM, highlighted the model’s blend of premium features and affordability for urban families and fleet buyers.
