Arch Manning's NFL prospects and LSU‑Ole Miss recruiting debate dominate college football news

Quarterback Arch Manning of the Texas Longhorns is profiled as a top 2027 NFL draft prospect. Standing 6'4" and 226 lb, he posted 2,531 passing yards with 25 touchdowns over three seasons and is projected to run a 4.62‑second 40‑yard dash, a 32½‑inch vertical and a 9‑ft‑11‑in broad jump at the NFL combine.

Separately, Mississippi quarterback Trinidad Chambliss opposed LSU coach Lane Kiffin's claim that Ole Miss's Confederate‑symbol legacy hinders Black recruiting. Chambliss said the Oxford community showed him love and acceptance, countering Kiffin's remarks in a Vanity Fair interview. Kiffin, who left Ole Miss for LSU, will return as a visitor when LSU faces Ole Miss on Sept. 19.
