Archaeological beach search scheduled in Cadzand
Archaeologists, geologists, and history enthusiasts are organizing a beach search in Cadzand on October 17 and 25 to locate traces of submerged land. Participants will search for items such as flint, pottery, bones, metal, and wooden ship fragments that provide insight into historical habitation in the region when the shoreline was located further away.
The activity, which includes guidance from Dutch and Flemish experts, also serves as a beach cleanup effort to remove wandering waste while searching for artifacts. The sessions begin with an introductory briefing at the Zeemeeuw beach pavilion in Cadzand.
