Archaeological discoveries in Romania reveal Dacian luxury goods and Roman artifacts
Archaeologists in Romania have reported two significant historical finds. In Neamț County, excavations conducted this summer uncovered fragments of at least three brick-red painted ceramic vessels. According to archaeologist Vasile Diaconu, these items represent luxury goods used by Dacian communities, which were typically found in fortified centers and power hubs east of the Carpathians.
In Constanța, specialists discovered an intact Roman sarcophagus believed to contain the remains of a young boy. The burial included well-preserved hair, flower garlands, a bracelet, and a bulla—a protective amulet worn by free-born Roman male children. The presence of the bulla and toys, such as a small horse and a rooster, indicates the child belonged to a family of free Roman citizens and was buried with a funerary inventory.
