Archaeological discoveries reported in Orvieto and Bari
Archaeological sites in Italy have seen significant updates and new findings. In Orvieto, the Pozzo della Cava archaeological complex has introduced renovated signage and improved displays for its findings. The updates include new iron supports and safety glass to enhance readability and visitor experience. The site commemorates the 500 (+2000) years of the well, noting its historical connection to Pope Clement VII, who sought refuge in Orvieto in 1527.
In Bari, new archaeological remains have been discovered at the RFI construction site in Piazza Moro, near the Bari Centrale station. Excavations south of the fountain revealed a funerary deposit with associated artifacts, adding to previous findings in the northern area of the square. Despite these discoveries, Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) has confirmed that construction work is expected to conclude by the end of 2026.
