Archaeological excavations in Aspe reveal Bronze Age structures

The fourth consecutive excavation campaign at the El Tabayá site in Aspe has uncovered new dwellings and burials, providing deeper insight into the settlement's history during the Bronze Age.

Directed by archaeologist Juan Antonio López Padilla from the Provincial Archaeological Museum of Alicante (MARQ), the project is part of the ‘Society and social space in the northeastern extreme of the Argar’ initiative. Radiocarbon dating from more than twenty analyses has confirmed that the site was occupied for over a millennium.

The research is supported by the Diputación de Alicante through its Provincial Plan for Excavations and Archaeological Research, with collaboration from the Aspe City Council and the Municipal Historical Museum.
