Archbishop Apostolos honored at farewell dinner in New Jersey

Archbishop Elpidophoros of America and the Holy Metropolis of New Jersey hosted a farewell dinner at The Venetian in Garfield, New Jersey, to honor Archbishop-elect Apostolos. The event celebrated his transition from his role as Metropolitan of New Jersey to his new leadership position within the Orthodox Church of Canada.

During the ceremony, Archbishop Elpidophoros presented the incoming Archbishop with a pastoral staff and an enkolpion. The gathering included representatives from the Greek and Cypriot diplomatic communities, including the Consul General of Greece in New York, Ifigenia Kanara, and the Consul General of Cyprus, Kyriakos Pogiatsis, alongside various clergy and community organizations.

Archbishop Apostolos expressed gratitude to the faithful and the clergy for their support during his six-year tenure in New Jersey. His formal enthronement as the Archbishop of Canada is scheduled to take place on September 19, 2026, at St. Nicholas Cathedral in Toronto.
