Archbishop Bruno Forte celebrates 22 years of episcopate in Chieti
The San Giustino Cathedral in Chieti hosted a celebration on September 8 to mark the 22nd anniversary of Archbishop Bruno Forte’s episcopal ordination. The Archbishop, who was consecrated in Naples in 2004 by then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger (later Pope Benedict XVI), presided over the Mass.
During his homily, Archbishop Forte reflected on the Nativity of Mary and discussed three Marian icons venerated within the diocese: the ‘Madonna del Latte’ in Vasto, the ‘Mater Populi’ in the Chieti Cathedral, and the ‘Madonna dei Miracoli’ in Casalbordino. He emphasized the connection between Mary’s motherhood and the role of the Church as a mother in faith.
The event saw significant participation from the diocesan community, including priests, deacons, religious figures, and lay groups. The celebration concluded with a musical performance by the Schola Cantorum ‘S. Zimarino’ and the ‘Armonie Ensemble’ string orchestra.
