Archbishop Joan celebrated during name day services in Tirana

The Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania celebrated the name day of Archbishop Joan of Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania on September 26. The solemn panagyrical services were held at the Resurrection of Christ Cathedral in Tirana.

The ceremony was led by Archbishop Joan alongside members of the Holy Synod, with participation from clergy representing all metropolitanates in the country. Hundreds of believers from Albania and abroad attended the service. During the liturgy, Metropolitan Nikolla of Fier offered well wishes on behalf of the Holy Synod, the clergy, and the faithful.

In his address, Archbishop Joan expressed gratitude to the Synod, clergy, and attendees. He emphasized a message of spiritual devotion, citing the teaching of Saint John: ‘Love one another, and that is enough.’ The event concluded with a reception attended by various figures, including members of the diplomatic corps, academics, politicians, and representatives from the media.
