Archbishop of Santa Cruz calls for reconciliation over Virgen de Cotoca rumors

The Archbishop of Santa Cruz, Mons. René Leigue, has called for reconciliation and urged the community to stop political rumors regarding the Virgen de Cotoca. During a Sunday homily held during the Month of the Bible, the prelate addressed recent controversies circulating on social media concerning the alleged relocation of the Virgin of Cotoca.

Leigue also reflected on the importance of divine mercy and the sacrament of confession. He criticized those who avoid the sacrament by citing the imperfections of priests, noting that clergy members, including the Pope, also seek penance. He emphasized that priests absolve in the name of God and urged the faithful to overcome pride and embrace forgiveness.
