Archbishop René Leigue urges authorities to govern with wisdom and sincere dialogue

Archbishop René Leigue of Santa Cruz delivered a Sunday homily calling on public officials to ask God for discernment and to govern with wisdom, prudence and service rather than personal power or revenge. He cited the biblical example of King Solomon, who prayed for a compassionate heart to judge rightly, and urged leaders to follow that model.

Leigue warned that when authority is used as a tool for domination, it can lead to errors, violence and broken families. He stressed the need for genuine, sincere dialogue to build lasting consensus and emphasized that the same principles apply to parents and anyone with responsibility over others.
