Archbishop Wojciech Polak celebrates 700th anniversary of Kwieciszewo parish

Archbishop Wojciech Polak, the Primate of Poland, presided over a thanksgiving Mass in Kwieciszewo to celebrate the 700th anniversary of the Parish of St. Mary Magdalene.

During his homily, Archbishop Polak emphasized that a parish should not be viewed as a cold administrative office for handling sacraments like baptisms or funerals, but rather as a living community of faith and a home for the people of God. He noted that the heart of the parish is the Sunday Eucharist, which serves as the source of unity for the community.

Referencing Pope Francis, the Primate highlighted the importance of maintaining open and active pastoral structures. He also mentioned that the ongoing Eucharistic Congress in the Archdiocese of Gniezno presents an opportunity for the spiritual renewal of parish life.
